Hi all im new to this forum so bare with me.
I've had a 66 stang for the past year and a half. It s got a 6 cyl, c4, wimbledon white, red interior. I bought it from a friend for a $1000, the problems with it is that it needs a new paint job, minor rust in the fenders, trunk wheel well, 2 small holes in the floor. The engine and the tranny are both original and in perfect condition. So far i've coated the floor and trunk with POR-15, replaced the left fender. I have many other parts to finish it including new front and rear valances, almost everything to redo the interior including carpet, the carpet underlay, door panels, dash board, seat covers. It need s a new paint job and some welding I have a electric mig welder but dont know how to weld(any suggestion for on welding are appreaciated.)
I would like to swap out the 6 for a small block v8 302. I know with the sawp i need to put in a new suspension, brakes, and other things. Would i be able to keep the tranny? I would like to setup the car as a street/strip car. Sorry for the long post. Any comments, ideas, or suggestions are highly appreaciated.
i also am currently putting in a painless wiring system
