What would you guys do regarding my ProM stuation? The more I think about it the more frustrated I get. I asked for a schematic so I could make my own transmission harness, which I'm capable of. They wouldn't provide.

I called Anderson motorsports. I'm sure most of you guys know them. Very well respected. I asked them if they happened to have a ProM transmission harness because I knew they sold ProM stuff. I explained the situation briefly. They said they dropped ProM for the same problem I'm having. They wouldn't respond to them either. So Anderson got ghosted for the last time and dropped them. They don't even carry their MAF sensors anymore.

All I can think about is having an issue down the road and can't get a part or schematic. I'm out the cost obviously. So that's why I'm giving the install a go even though I can't finish it or drive it without the remaining harness.

My order from 7 weeks ago is for around $450. That's for the harness (that I shouldn't have to buy) and a few EMS options. I could put a stop pay on that and at least recoup a little. I'm begining to think if I haven't heard from them in almost two months I probably ain't gonna. Should have went with the Holley from the beginning. What a mess.

I'm curious what anyone following this thread might do, or how you would feel about it.

Are there any other alternatives to the ProM trans harness that work with the rest of the system?

If so, go that route, cancel your payment with your CC and move on.

If not, and they won't share the schematic i'm not really sure what else you can do.

Looks like LMR has ditched ProM too. Sale on the remaining MAF meters.

Well thats a bummer.

Maybe you can find someone out in the open who has the trans harness and ask them to share photos/schematics to see if you can recreate it. Am i right in assuming this is a pigtail type connector deal?

See if this guy has the transmission harness? Or is the harness specific to the exact transmission you have?

Maybe reach out to efisystempro.com to see if they have a lead on any? They list a bunch of Holley EFI transmission harnesses, no ProM, but maybe they could help source one.

My fear is after such a sizeable investment, what happens down the road, should you need a part or assistance. Now we know why Holley has such a following.......... assistance from the greater community

Does anyone know who bought the company?

Whoever it is they apparently don't care about replying to customers. I still haven't heard anything about the missing transmission harness from my engine management kit, or the one I purchased to replace it 2 months ago.

I have some home renovations going on. If I don't hear from them by the time I finish up, I guess I'll put a payment reversal on my order and consider my ProM EMS a complete loss.

Buyer beware.

I'm looking at that, the PimpXs, and TermX.

Holley is so big and has made so many of these ECU's i think future support should be good. After this experience that's high on my priority list. You can pretty much find them everywhere in stock and ready to ship. I found a reputable tuner that is familiar with Foxes and modern stuff alike. I'm going to get in touch with him this weekend and see what he prefers, then go that route.

I'm not sure the best way to answer that. No would be the most accurate answer.

Sean Trotter now owns it.

I spoke with Chris via email a few weeks back. He said Sean Trotter now owns the company. Chris is an unpaid consultant.

A while back I sent one last email to Sean about my missing harness and also my undelivered $400+ order for optional accessories. I also copied support. Sean has still never replied.

Chris however must get the support emails and he responded. He knew where a harness was and mailed it to me. This is completely out of his job description. He doesn't really even work there, or get paid by them. But he hooked me up. So IMO ProM hasn't come through, but Chris has. I'm very grateful for that.

Finally...

I applied a charge dispute for my order and the CC company has got my money back. I'm not going to send ProM another dime. As far as I can tell ProM racing is now defunct. I'd strongly caution anyone from sending them any money.

Hopefully someone capable buys it.

With most of the home renovations done I had a little time to work on the car today. Earlier I mentioned:

It was actually melted to the floor under the carpet. When I lifted up the carpet I felt it. I did some google-fu and melted intermediate leads seems to be an issue with Zetronix.

To be sure this never happens again I moved the controller centrally under the radio. This allowed me run the high temp wideband leads into the car. Those leads are very high temp silicone. The problem is the connector is huge and I didn't want to drill holes that big into the floor pan.

I ran them through the shifter boot base. I used a few grommets. The area where I drilled the holes is open to under the car. So I didn't have to drill the body at all.

For the controller I cut a small peice of aluminum. I loosened up the metal console bracket that bolts to the tunnel and slid the aluminum under it. Then tightened it back down.

I attached the controller to the aluminum with some 3m mounting tape. Now the cable sections that apparently aren't very heat friendly are inside and off the floor. I put a little ultra black around them just to seal it up better.

I started it up and surprisingly the controller still works. On to the next.

This was still happening. Not only does it rev up super high but it goes into open loop as soon as that happens and the widebands peg lean. No codes. Hmmm.

I decided to try a base idle reset again. I was able to back the throttle stop screw out quite a bit before the idle dropped. That seemed to do the trick. I adjusted the throttle stop to 750 RPM then typed in my desired RPM of 750 and saved my changes. It's operating normally now. Idles really steady at 750. Seems really snappy and responsive. It's staying in closed loop and it returns to idle quickly after reving it up.

So some progress.

Now I can try to set the low injector slope. I select that function and these guages pop up.

The idea is to change the low slope number until the guages read straight up.

I had to set my low slope pretty low to get the guages where they are supposed to be. The instructions clearly say that if you have to lower the low slope lower than the high injector slope there is a vacuum leak or other issue.

I'll try the smoke machine but I don't think I have a vacuum leak.

At this point I'm happy its running and idling! The widebands are working so that's cool. I'll tackle the low injector slope setting next time.

Curiosity got the best of me so I went out and checked for vacuum leaks. Nothing obvious. I picked this guy up a few months ago but never tried it yet. Little guy puts out some smoke for sure.

Lowering the low injector slope is effectively telling the PCM the injectors are smaller than they actually are and increases pulth width. So this got me wondering about my fuel presure. I checked and set it about a month ago but should probably have checked it today when setting the slope.

I did a key on pressure check and its a little low, 37 instead of 39-40. So maybe bumping that up to spec will change my low slope enought to fall into range. Not really sure but that will be the next try.

I gave the neighbors enought with it screaming at 2500 rpm for quite a while today. It's pretty loud. So I'll wait until next weekend.

Man I am glad you are making progress and that truely sucks about Pro-M. You need to set the fuel pressure at idle with the vacuum line disconnected and plugged. Checking it with a key cycle is not the best way.

Thanks, and yeah It does suck. I'm going through all this knowing if I have an issue or need a part I'm pretty much screwed. At that point I'll have to switch to a different platform. I have too much invested to not try and get it going. Not really any point to rip it out and start over other than spite lol

Oh yeah. For sure. I'm just hoping that it is in fact a little low. I was reading a one PSI change in fuel pressure can shift the injector low slope as much as 1.5%. That would put me right on target. So im hoping that's all it is. Just didn't want to start it up. I made a hell of a racket all day. Neighbors are lame. I'll find out next weekend.
