OK I have finally got enough together to get a supercharger.

My question is, is there anyone out there that is using a small shot of dry nitrous as a charge cooler? Is this a good/bad idea? What are the drawbacks and benefits of this versus methanol or an intercooler?

I don't see anything wrong with the idea. Just realize it was cause more stress on the engine. You better have a forged shortblock, or say goodbye to your rods.

Another alternative is an intercooler. You can make a custom setup for about $500, and your IAT's will definetely drop.

Well I wasnt thinking of putting like a 100hp shot or anything. I was thinking along the lines of a 25hp shot just to cool the charge. Ive already got the nitrous on there. Just thinking of a way to maybe get out of having to pay for an intercooler or methanol.

What if I left the timing out and used the spray to get the extra horses instead of putting timing in?

Now I am thinking out loud and of course I have no experience with this. Hopefully someone who has done this will chime in.
