does nitrous do any damage to your engine. I wont go to the track too often and was just curious of the effects.

"Don't be afraid of Nitrous. Properly used,it is great. Abuse it and you will be walking home with a blown motor.
Learn all that you can before getting a kit, some people should use something other than Nitrous to attain their goals.
Read the manual carefully when you buy a kit.
Fuel is the most important commodity in your engine, make sure you have enough.
Make sure your ignition system is strong.
Make sure you set the timing to the reccommended settings as stated by the Nitrous kit manufacturer.
Find a place local to you that offers Nitrous refills for a fair price.
Get the proper permits in order to use Nitrous Oxide in your car.
Since Nitrous will make your car go faster in the quarter mile, you must gear the car for Nitrous use,not for the motor only.
Enjoy yourself." I couldnt have said it any better, so I quoted it.

There are two common ways to damage a motor from nitrous:

1 - Backfire! Fuel pools in the intake and then BANG, you blow the intake up. This is avoidable with the right safety features.

2 - You burn up a piston. This is caused from adding too much nitrous and not enough fuel. Again, avoidable with all the right safety features.

I got a Nitrous kit in 2002 on my car , I use it 99% on the street and I never had a problem .

The cool thing about nitrous is : your car drives like a stock one but if you need the extra punch , just flip the switch .

I like to spray 1st and 2nd gear so the bottle last for ever .

Down side : You have to refill the bottle , I bought 2 10lbs so I always have a full one ready to go ...
