So... I have this Trickflow plate kit for my TF intake, and I currently have a 306 with forged flat tops, reconditioned rods, and stock crank. TF CNC 185's and Stage 2 TF cam. Getting tuning done this spring, and hope to build a full forged 331 before that, BUT, I am an electrician and work is getting scarce and so are the hours at work sometimes.

If I don't get the budget to rebuild my motor before spring, how much would any of you guys consider safe to throw at it? I assume that the motor should put out around 400 at the crank. For the nitrous, It's a wet kit, and I also have some of the safety things in place including: MSD window switch to engage after 3000 or so RPM and disengage before rev limiter, say around 6000. I have fuel pressure safety switch, and am going to upgrade my MSD 6A to a 6 Plus before I use it also, for the timing retard feature. I also have a 255lph fuel pump too, so pressure shouldn't be a problem. I also have the automatic bottle heater with gauge to monitor pressure.

SO: How much can I throw at it?
Is there anything else I should get?
Any other thoughts?
Other than the first fill, will only be used rarely.
Motor only has 5-7k on it

150 shot shouldn't hurt it one bit... with a good tune of course.

I have the same kit at you. You can see my mods in my sig.

I have a window switch that turns the nitrous on at 3k and off at 6k, automatic bottle heater with a pressure switch control. It has been a while since the car has been to the track with a full bottle so I can't remember what the pressure setting is. Pretty much the same controls and safeties that you have.

I haven't gone above a 100 shot, and only a couple of times, since I still have the stock fuel pump. I have a 255lph but I just haven't had the time to put it in. That and the car is torn down for paint.

Its a nice kit. The only thing that I had to do was make a bracket to mount my solenoids and get a slightly longer line for the fuel supply to the fuel solenoid.

I have the same kit as you also, I have my stock 91 bottom end in my car. I run 150 shot most of the time but I have the 200 jets in it now and made three 1/4 mile passes with the 200 shot and had no problems. NOt sure how long it will last, guess we'll find out when warm weather gets here.
