NO FUEL PRESS Car wont start

Well i had my car running today with my new 60lb injectors and all of the sudden it started to run real bad then stalled. When it was running bad the check engine light came on so i ran the codes and got code 542 wich is Fuel Pump secondary circuit fault. started the car back up it ran and smelled like raw fuel really bad so i shut it off and now no fuel press at all. It will jump to about 20psi when the pumps turn on then drop to 0 right away. Both pumps on my car are kicking on but nothing. I have checked fuses but all seem to be good. I cleared codes and tryed to scan again but i get nothing. Can the fuel press regulator be shot? the pump bad relay? or maybe the fuel filter is cloged.

If anyone can help please let my know this is driving me crazy

Just a random question, but are you running high or low impedence injectors? The 542 can sometimes be a ghost code if you have a hiccup (almost stalled a manual car) and the engine fires back up immediately before the car realizes what happened.

Since it is able to build some pressure, one might guess the electrical side is functional to some affect. The variable is not knowing the deal with the second pump. Ergo:

Matt is spot-on about 542 possibly being a ghost code. How is/are the fuel pumps wired up?

Since Injectors are a new variable, are you sure they are not seeping?

Well the crazy thing is today i turned the kew and it held press. I did not try to start it beacuse the battery was dead. Now i really dont know whats going on.
