I have been getting codes 181, 332, and 341 on my 1992 or 1993 4 cyl notch. When I give it a little gas in gear, it will "break up". I was trying to find the fuel pump relay to test it, but I can't find one in the wiring diagrams for a 4 cyl! is there not one for a 4 banger?

In testing for voltage, do I just ground out the bottom rh pin on the EEC test port, and then look for 12 volts on the pink/black wire feeding the fuel pump?

Do 4 bangers not have something akin to a Constant Control Relay module? I thought they did.................

2.3 4-cyl has different type of fuel pump relay...

I just went several days looking for the fuel pump relay in my sons new car myself. It is our 1st 2.3 4-cyl in this family and someone in the 2.3 Tech Forum finally led me in the right direction.

The CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module) is screwed to the right strut tower and has something like a 24 wire plug connection attached to it. The fuel pump relay is in this box, but can only be accessed by drilling out the rivets in the corners of the box. The relay is acually soldered to a circuit board in the box and is not the same as the relays in the 5.0 Mustangs which I was used to dealing with.

Someone told me I could buy a relay at Radio Shack and replace the bad one with, but you better know what your doing at this point. A new CCRM at Ford is $115.00 for a 1992 LX it it's the same as the part we needed. I figured my son was going to be driving this car for a least 2 years with the 4 banger in it before we do a V-8 swap so we're going with a new CCRM and a new fuel pump to keep him going for a while.

Hope this helps you out some...

The above advice is wise. The same issue occurs on 94-95's and I also do not recommend using an SPST relay to replace the OEM relay (integral to the CCRM). I would not trust an aftermarket relay in an engine bay to be tractable. Having a FP relay fail while making a left turn could really suck.

Good luck.
