I am having problems getting power to my fuel pump. The trouble started when I replaced my battery(trunk mounted) and figured I didn't need to bolt it back in, because I was only driving around the block. I took a corner too fast and the battery came unplugged. After that the fuel pump wouldn't kick on. I am not sure what kind of problem that would cause. I replaced the wire running to it as well as the relay. I hooked it up to make sure the pump wasn't bad, and it isn't. Everything else electrical seems to be working fine. I am kind of at a loss, any help would be appreciated.

did you check the fuel pump cutoff switch in the trunk? it's right near the passenger taillight (in a coupe).

So when you probe the FP relay socket, what is missing? That will tell you a direction to go. How is the fusible link at the solenoid (if you have constant power to one terminal on the FP relay, that wire should be ok)?

Jrichker's no start checklist covers a lot of FP diagnostics. I would check it out.
Good luck.

Post the model year of your car or the model year of the EFI wiring conversion if you have a car other than 86-93 Mustang. The wiring scheme changed in 91 and all the wiring colors are different, and so is the circuit for the inertia switch.

Once I have this information, I can post the proper test path to troubleshoot the fuel pump electric system.
