I don't know about the 302's but I know the 351w have a plug in the valley of the block that is removed when the enginge block is cleaned. This way the oil passeges get cleaned aswell. It could be if the 302's have them that is is out and need to be installed. this would cause your oil pressure issue.

there are 4(2 rear and 2 front) pressed in plugs for the oil passages that run horizontal through the lifter bores. if you lose one in the front the oil pressure would not build and the oil would return to the pan. a rear one would leak oil badly externally.

There is a rubber O ring on the pick up tube. Yours is either crimped or worn. You will need to replace this part and you will see oil pressure. This happened to me.

It's the tube going from the oil pump into the pan. If this doesn't help u may need to talk to who built the motor and make sure they installed new cam bearings. Some people skip this step cause they require a little work to install, and it will also make u lose oil pressure if they are worn.
The oil pump is brand new even the tube. I decide to take the engine out and take it to a shop to get the bearings replaced. They will clean and replace all of the bearings for $100. I should have done this in the first place especially when it hasn't been running for two years.
So my original post about why I thought you had no oil pressure was correct. The only reason I thought of this is because the exact same thing happened to me on intial fire up of my 351w. I had the engine in and out 7 times playing with oil pimp before the problem was discovered.

yeah you can easily see it's missing on the left side of the picture.
Funny how there's no valvetrain noise with no oil pressure.
you are getting some oil pressure but not much.
