i am doing my turbo coupe rear swap and noticed that my old rear doesn't have any quad brackets on it and doesn't appear to have been cut off.it's an 8.8 rear but i'm wondering what the rear could have come out of because i'm probably going to give it to a friend of mine with a 7.5 because mine does have 3.73s,just no limited slip in it.

The Mark VII rear ends were the same basic 8.8 as the Mustangs, but no quads and for the most part, no limited slip.

Get a good set of upper and lower control arms and you won't need the quad shocks anyway.

The quad shocks were a bandaid to the wheel hop problem. As said earilier, get a good setup and you won't need them.

If it was a Mark VII rear, it originally had disc brakes. But the 7.5 and the 8.8 drum brakes are the exact same and would both bolt up to the Mark VII, Turbo Coupe and Mustang 8.8 rear ends with no problem. They probably just swapped the drums onto it.

I think 4-banger cars didn't come with quads either
