Hey guys, Steve here. Hopefully someone could help me out.
I just picked up a '93 shell and threw a '91 5.0 engine/tranny in it. I'm working on getting it to start with no luck. I'm getting 12 volts to the starter but the starter just isn't working (already replaced it with a new one). I bridged the gap with a wire from the ignition post on the starter solenoid to the post that gives power to the starter and I get 12v all the way through to the starter. Is there something else that has to be done or hooked up or depressed to get the starter to turn? I tried pushing the clutch in with no luck, although the clutch cable isn't hooked up yet. Is there a switch somewhere that I'm missing that allows the starter to spin?
The harness is mostly hooked up with the exception of one connector near the tranny (can't find out where it goes). I'm not trying to get the engine to start all the way right now, just trying to get the starter going.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
