cythar: i'm positive that's not the noise he's talking about but i do know what ur talking about. i had the same noise on my explorer. i think the only way to fix that is to get a new pump even though like half of ford cars have the same noise/problem. This noise is sounds like a midpitched plastic gear-grinding coming from under the hood. the creak he's talking about sounds lower on the car like from the wheels (in my case at least)

AS TO THE NOISE: i too get the same noise. i've searched around these sights and have found it has something to do with the front end suspension components. i'm almost positive i remember it being the ends of the control arms that get that low pitched creaking noise when u turn the wheel (sometimes, not always- just low speeds i've found). As to the remedy, i don't know, i'm no mechanic- maybe you could disconnect them and grease em up??? i'd really like to know how to fix it too, but don't have the money to buy new ones if it is the problem... i'll try and locate the old thread that i saw this info in
