I have a "chirp" from the throw out bearing that stops as I put pressure on the clutch pedal. How much preload should I have on the cable set up?

I thought I saw a thread on this before but could not find it...

Depends on what trans you are running. If you are using a T5, then your TO bearing should have a slight bit of preload so that it is engaged all the time, but just slightly. Not sure on the older 4 speeds, but I believe you don't want any preload.

Is a T5 with Mustang Steve cable. I put a turn on the adjustment nut and eliminated the noise. I have not been bale to find any good adjustment info.
