Noisy injectors?

theres a clicking noise from the engine compartment and theres a fluttering noise that i can hear inside the car while driving. how noisy are your injectors? will getting a fuel system cleaning help, if thats what the noise is? very annoying, i hate mystery noises.

that is most likely lifters

the injectors making noise (clicking) = they are working.

most make noise, but the noises from the rest of the car drown them out.

ok thanks guys. anyone else have an opinion? should i get the injectors cleaned or should i pull the valve covers?

is it running bad, i have never heard injectors make a noise before, especially over the mufflers and fan. to change the lifters you need to pull the intakes too.

maybe i should have said that the noise that i hear is at idle and when im either outside the car or inside with the window down. what do you suppose is bad with the lifters?

if you think your injectors are messed up, you can run a balance test on them. read up on pulling codes and it will test them. if it finds something out of spec, it will refine the test to check them further.
if you dont hear an injector click, wonder if it is ok. it is just that, as said, one normally does not hear them over other engine noise. i have to use a stethoscope to hear them.
but it is real hard for any of us to diagnose the description of a noise like yours.
