Hi all I'm new to this forum so if I ask question that has been beaten to death I appologize now.

My question is: what seems to be the better blower. an ATI P-1SC, NOVI 2000, or a Vortec V or S trim? I have read manufacturers clamis but I'm looking for some opionions on the matter or at least a link about this subject.

A little about my self:
I will soon be getting a 98 GT Conv (stock)
Currently drive a 97 Grand Prix GTP (not stock @ all) high 13's.

Any help would be great
Thanks,
Geoff. A

Out of these, Novi 2000, hands down. You should also consider Kenne Bell for that instant off the line boost.

Pretty nice thread

Make sure to browse around that board, lots of guys with too much money and 5 blower combos under their belt

If you're picking out of these centrifugals, then the Novi...however, if you change the ATI/Procharger P1SC to a D1 then Novi would take a backseat.

I'd take the KB over all 3 of those, but between the 3, I'd definitely go Procharger. I hear Paxton is a real good one too.

Too many people have Vortecs and from what I've seen, they dont offer a whole lot of power and reliability is an issue

Say I've read a crap load of 5.0 nad modular mustang mags and alot of them are running Vortec CSCs I woulden't mind going with a Whipple or KB but I really like the idea of a Turbo setup. Nothing sexier then a loud ass exhaust with that BOV chirping @ ya. PLus I'm kinda getting tired of the Supercharger whine!

Care to present some evidence of power and reliability issues ? How could a poor blower design sell so well ?

Im not saying its a poor blower design. I do know that I've seen higher output readings from other units such as the Paxton and ATI kits as opposed to the Vortec (given the same boost and similar mods)

I take the reliability comment back, they do seem pretty reliable. Perhaps thats why many people opt to go with Vortec over other kits. They are pretty cheap too. I'm not sure about Paxton, but atleast the ATI units are self-contained all come with intercoolers

If you knew anything on how acceleration and power works, then you would have a clue.

You are wrong, please go do some more research before making ****ty posts. I will take a ATI Procharger over a Kenne Bell any day of the week.

whats wrong with what he said?? i cant speak to reliability problems but i got a friend that has way too much money, he went from a s-trim to a novi2000 and the novi made more power, then he went to a turbo setup and is making north of 700 hp, not sure about the turbo #s yet, as far as the paxtons power, isnt the novi2000 a bigger blower than the s-trim?

yes, but you can get all into the 500's for rwhp with an s trim on the right set up, its definately enough blower for most of the cars out there, more than enough with a car with a stock short block.

Like many others have said. The Novi 2000 will get you more power, BUT it is a much bigger blower. If you are keeping a stock bottom end for now, like I am, a vortech s-trim is plenty big and makes good power. I have a completely stock motor with the steeda/vortech kit, a power pipe and an O/R exhaust and I made 393 RWHP / 373 RWTQ and that was BEFORE my O/R H-pipe I am definitely sure I am making atleast 400 RWHP now. If that's not enough power for you on the street, then you should get a bigger blower, but with the bigger blower comes the need for forged internals and more internal engine work. If you are just looking for plug and play, then a vortech will be great and much less expensive than the Novi 2000. I have 20,000 supercharged miles on mine without any problems and I drive it everyday and love it.
