Hey Guys,

my stang has been out for the count for the past two years and just now am brining it back to life. I purchased a used NOS system of EBAY about two years ago and a Ford Focus fuel pump. I would like to install the system but after two years I have forgotten how to do it. So help is much needed.

1) can someone explain to me how a ford focus fuel pump will work with the mustang being the mustang has a fuel regulator that does not change?


my understanding is the NOS system I have is designed to take the fuel it needs straight from the fuel rails, but how does the fuel regulator deal with the system when it starts to suck fuel. It seem to be the regulator would have to allow more fuel through.

Do I need a special fuel regulator to make this system work?

ok first, the Focus Pump is designed for a returnless full system like the 99+ cars have. I take it you have a 96-98, you will need to get a fuel pump designed for your return fuel system.

what N.O.S. system did you purchase? N.O.S. is a company, nothing else.

thanks for the knowledge, you are right I do have a 96 Mustang, so that answers my question on that point. As for the Nitrious system I have I am not sure, I will have to check, but as stated before I believe it gets it extra fuel from the fuel rail. If that is the case what do I need to do so that can happen? Do I need a different fual regulator, or can simply a better fuel pump solved the challange?

Then it is probably a Wet kit. Yes a fuel regulator is probably needed as well as a list of other items if the Nitrous kit didn't come with them. Activation switch, WOT switch, purge kit, solenoids, lines, etc etc.

List everything that you have with the kit. Then we can tell you what your will need.

For the wet kit you shouldnt need any fuel upgrades given you are staying under a 125 shot.

At the bare minumum I would go with one step colder plugs and put it on a dyno to check air/fuel. Also the safety goodies are a good idea. On those a WOT switch is mandatory and for a standard I would seriously consider a window switch to save you in the event of a missed shift.

Below is what the system seems to come with.

1) bottle
2) bottle heater
3) jets (of all sizes
4) comes with two Solenoid. One is for the nitrious, and I think the other is for fuel.
5) lot of fuel lines
6) wot switch
7) Master switch

So how do I hook this up?

I think I know why your motor didn't make it 2 yeasrs ago

You better have your car dyno tuned...that's all I have to say.

Well,

That is a positive response. The NOS has never been placed on the car. The motor went because of a bad head gasket.
