just wondering if any one is useing the Pro 5.0 ring and pinion sets and what the quality is like biggest reason I am asking is I really want a set of 3:90's and they make them.

I don't want to here the old go for 4:10's I am not interested in 4:10's.

3.90s are fine, and there are a few companies that make them other than PRO 5.0. Motive and Richmond are others. I have heard that Motive may be the best of those, but I dont have any of these so I can't directly say. I know my friend had a set of Richmond's and they whined pretty bad.

Heres a good link for you.....dont know how good it is.

FRPP doesn't make 3.90s for the 8.8" rear end.

I know the Richmond and Motive whine, if you can't find anyone with the Pro 5.0 gear i would not be the test dummy for them unless your car is not a daily driver.

Motive are good gears, I know a few people that use/used Motive with no probs or whine.
Richmond from what Ive used/seen whine like a pissed off baby.

Pro 5.0 I have no clue, never used or seen any with them...

I must have had a Brain Fart at 4 AM this morning..... Go with .410's and a 26" tall tire... that will make em about .390's .... LOL

as many have said before, gears should not whine if they were set up properly. I would pick up Motive 3.90s and bring them to a reputable installer. Do you really want to be the one to find out that Pro 5.0 may not make a quality product?

Every car Ive been in with gears had whined at WOT. Mine dose and all of my friends cars do. As far as Pro 5.0 one of my friends has them in 3.73 and he runs 10s in the 1/4 so Id say they aint bad.
