i replaced the ecc, the fp relay, the ecc relay, the starter solenoid, all fuse links with proper rated inline fuses. checked all grounds etc. and what do i get? even more problems than i had a week ago....seriously i need help here. i bypassed the inertia switch cause no one around here has a new one, but the problem is no power is getting anywhere near there. someone please tell me its something stupid, i mean could it be the new starter solenoid? i checked it its fine but who knows. i had power to the relays and such before i put in the new ecc, new solenoid and bypass for inertia.

im running out of time here, i need this running by monday and it will if i can figure out this electricaly nightmare. if know one knows how or where to start looking for power to the relays, someone tell me a way to bypass all that **** and get this running. id love to just run a wire directly from the ignition to the fp, but even when i hot wired the fp to come on, i still got no fuel to the rails despite a new filter. so i guess i need to know what the deal with that is too, does the ecc control any sort of valve to open up fuel to the rails? im not talking about the regulator thats vacuum controlled, im talking anything else that would stop fuel from geting to the rails. someone please give me some imput, im desperate now. also please dont post the wiring diagrams again, they are useless to me now seeing how i followed them exactly and they made things worse. thanks for any help. also, if anyone wants to buy this car, 700$ and its yours. 1984 2.3 turbo gt vert.

The EEC relay needs to be functional for things like the FP to work.

At the EEC relay, what values are you getting when you probe the relay socket? THat's where I'd start because it will kinda give a direction to go.

Jrichker will have a ton of info for you later I'm sure. :nice:

Good luck.

ill have to check it out, but i dont believe im getting any power to it. even when my computer was fried i still had power to both relays. its really depressing to spend 3 weeks trying t get this running to only go two steps back every time.

Unfortunately you are back to the AutoZone diagrams that don't show everything. A better diagram would go a long way in getting you some good help. Maybe a post in one of the 4 cylinder turbo forums would be of benefit.

EEC Power Relay and FP Relay are controlled by EEC. If you "fried" EEC, nothing's going to work right. I have wiring diagrams posted on the Corral, but since you don't want them, you must be a lot smarter than I am. I couldn't figure it out without wiring diagrams.

its just that i have the diagrams i keep seeing getting posted, and they are very little help at this point, considering the colors are wrong also. anyway, im getting 12 volts to the ecc relay so im not sure why its not switching, its possible i broke yet another relay but its litteraly 2 weeks old if that. like i said in another post i get a malfunction-like buzzer when i turn the key over as if to start, im gonna check everything else again tommorow cause i had too low an amp fuse in and it blew. also im embarrased to admit this, but the previous owner had the batery terminals mized up, yeah... so i overlooked this and had jump started the car which lead to my current situation. i believe thats what fried the ecc originally, however it had water in it so... im thinking having the polarity reversed could have screwed up more than just those 2 relays. any imput?

You are 100% correct on that one. The buzzing sound is most likely a relay, cycling rapidly on and off, definitely not normal.
Does is occur when key is in Ignition ON or START?

It worked for a minute and then was blocked by the Corral. Right-click will give you the hyperlink.
