im getting ready to put my front end back together, got poly bushings in the control arms, my balljoints were fine so i left those alone, but im debating using the offset rack bushings i got, from what i've heard they're a big pain in the arse to get in and out, and i really don't wanna open up the power steering system if i don't have to.

so my question is this... would getting a bumpsteer kit eliminate the need for the offset rack bushings (and also the need for the longer sn-95 balljoints in the future)? it makes sense to me but i just wanted to bounce it off of some more experienced people to see if there's anything i'm looking over or getting myself into something bad. i really wanna put this back together and not have to touch the suspension again (unless i swap to a drag setup sometime down the line)

You will still need spacers or the sn95 ball joints. Lowering it has nothing to do with this portion of the setup as the stock ball joint threads don't go down far enough to tighten the crown nut where it needs to be. Bumpsteer kit would be nice and possible some c/c plates to help alignment issues. Depends on your car. Some people need c/c plates with the slightest adjustment to height. But others use some pretty extreme lowering kits (sportline) and alignment is just fine without any c/c or bumpsteer. I have sportlines with nothing and I am 4 lug for now. When I finish my 5 lug conversion I am going to go all poly, bump steer and c/c plates so I have plenty of adjustment with the new setup and not get caught in the middle of the install having to buy more parts. good luck

old blue - i don't get what you're saying about the crown nut... why does it need to be tighter on the steering knuckle?

my car is lowered 2" and i have pretty bad bump steer, but i have skinnies up front also. Im raising it back to stock ride height. I've traded paint with about every speed bump, high driveway, pothole in town. Not worth lowering it to me. Traction went down the drain to. My car came that way, thats the only reason its lowered. Id get a bump steer kit also.
