Sorry this is slightly off topic, but this thing showed up in my yard yesterday. Can anybody suggest good restoration parts vendors for upholstery, trim, repro parts, etc? Thanks!

I'd say parts are hard to get for those now. Cool car. You just don't see them that often anymore.

Thats freakin awesome! Sorry I don't have any suggestions on vendors for restoration parts besides what has already been mentioned. You might look at Ebay for some parts. As for the upholstery, you might consider just having a shop remake the original pattern. Does it have early 90s Explorer wheels on it?

Yep, it's got Explorer wheels on it... those gotta go!

As for the engine, it's just a little old 289. The car belonged to my wife's father and has been in the family for years, so resto parts availability and value when restored be damned, it's got priceless sentimental value to the family...

Although it looks rough in the pics, it's really pretty solid and straight--a North Carolina car it's whole life and what you see is mostly just surface rust.

I have been keeping my eyes open for a couple of years for either a 67 galaxy project, or a 67 fairlane project.

I really like the fairlanes lines.

Thats cool. I hope your able to fix back up to respectable condition with out too much cost. Are you keeping the 289 or going bigger?

I'd love to go with an FE, but don't know if it's realistic... I'd really prefer it was a Fairlane too, but it is what it is.

My mom’s landscaper pulls his trailer with a ’64 galaxie wagon. His looks like it’s been through hell and desperately needs restored, but I think it’s still a good choice.
