Hey Guys,
I've got about 2k miles on my GT at this point and I have an odd buzz that occurs in my engine around 3250 RPM and ends at about 3450 RPM. You really can't hear it unless you're driving next to a concrete embankment or a high curb or something that really lets the sound from the engine reflect back into the cabin...but it's actually pretty darn loud when you do hear it. Does anyone else have this problem? I know there was talk of a problem with the Transmission dust cover missing bolts, is there any more detailed info on where I need to look to find out if I'm missing bolts...if this isn't the problem, does anyone have ideas on what else it could be!?

Thanks a bunch,
Richard B.

hey, i've been hearing a noise that is sort of like a buzz, does it sound somewhat hollow and very metallic? I still haven't checked to see if my transmission plate is missing bolts or not.

here's the link to the thread

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=530267&highlight=transmission+plate

and then check out this picture of the missing bolt location

Now, I just have to go home and check

Yup, very hollow

Yeah man,
My buzz is very metalic and very hollow sounding as well. I can trigger it in any gear at around 3200 RPM. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? Try driving next to a cement wall r something that reflects sound well and accellerate your car in like 2nd gear from 3000 to 3400 rpm and see if you hear a metalic buzzing noise...

More thoughts?

R

p.s. Thanks for the info man, I really appreciate it!

Those two missing bolts is the first thing I would check. I've got about 500 miles on mine so far and have no odd sounds. Knock on wood!!!
