After driving my car today, my speedo just quit on me. The only thing I actually messed with during the rebuild was the speedo gear going into the tranny. The speedo/odometer/etc...worked for about a mile of driving and then just quit?

I know the speedo gear didn't look to good when I put it in...but it had did fine all along. Just kind of a coincidence...so what needs to be checked to cancel ideas out?

I figure it is the speedo gear...I guess I'll pick one up...

Just bored and it is late..

Both my gears look fine, but my speedo doesn't work. So if it's not you're gear maybe we have the same problem. I was gonna check my speedo cable, you might give that a look.

I wonder if while it sat, something dried up not being used...and the 50resto speedo cable I got broke...but either way it is weird and a bad time to break when I'm trying to watch my miles on a new engine

My speedo quit working soon after I installed my TKO 600. Just my luck, but the speedo drive gear inside the trans had broken. I had to pull the trans back out and remove the extension housing and replace it. On a side note, you can check your cable / speedo head by putting the trans end of the cable in an elctric drill and spinning it while watching your speedo head. I think you may have to have the drill in reverse, I can't remember.
