Hey Joshman -- I thought you had the setup already on your 2005 mustang and you didn't like it? Or was that the x-pipe you had?

I had the bassani O/R X-pipe and it sounded like an overgrown civic. I think the O/R H-pipe will sound much better than the X.

Yeah, but that was with flows, which sound like - in my opinion - hick trash to begin with...

H-Pipe on

So, I put the pipe on and it is louder. I did achieve a louder exhaust without getting the drone, but I'm not sure if I like the sound. The car sounds tinny and could be a little deeper. I'll drive it around for a while and see if it grows on me.

If you want a deep growl, O/R H pipe+Mac axle back. Im pretty sure there is no other combo that will beat the pitch that this combo will give.

Mike06_10pm,
It sounds much better with the prochamber, overall I'm very happy with it. I wish I would have bought the prochamber first and not waisted money on a h pipe. Compaired to the O/R H the sound is much deeper with very little rasp, and no poping when you shift gears. The O/R H would get very high pitched over 3000 RPMs where the prochamber maintains a deep sound. The drone is also not near as bad. The prochamber is also quite a bit quieter that the O/R H pipe I had. It also fits great and the install is easy due to the 3 piece design.

I honestly think a O/R H pipe will sound like crap on a 05+ with any mufflers not just flows.

Hey all, I'm new to this forum so this is my first post. I have the H-Pipe/Stock mufflers on right now and it sounds a little quiet. I recently had the H-Pipe/Mac axle-backs and it sounded great except that I had to revert back to the stock mufflers because I was getting the so called "trumpets" at the 2500 RPM range. This sound, over time, was getting a little to irritating. I am now doing some research into which h-pipe/muffler combo will deliver the best sound but without the "bap bap bap bap...." sound upon acceleration. I hope this info helps.

Look into the Pypes axle-back mufflers or maybe even the SLP powerflows.

Or SLP LMs????

I have the SLP LM and Offroad H combo..at first I hated it, but I gave myself a bit for it to grow on me. It is extremely loud and sounds like a dragster at WOT and has a lovely old muscle car idle. Cammed this would be heaven. I only drive this two days a week and I would get annoyed with it..and was going to remove it...but everyone that has come into contact with my car loves it and have threatened my life if I do take them off. I have now grown to love them.
