How many of you have autos with a supercharger? I am looking at a new truck, but it is an auto. What is the big differences compared with a stick? These are times I wish I drank instead of having the car bug.

Sorry, I just mean how different is it that the tranny is shifting for you, is it as good as with a stick? How many of you have auto's and superchagers, and what type?

Not a Mustang, but I have a Vortech V3 Si trim supercharger on my Marauder with the stock 4R70W auto transmission. I don't think there's really a lot of difference between auto and manual where a power adder is concerned. I mean, no more so than on an n/a car. Make enough power and you're going to need to consider some upgrades for both. I'm about ready to have mine rebuilt to handle the extra power (I make about 430 at the wheels). I'm also going to put a high stall torque converter in it.
As for how it runs, I have no complaints. I know a lot of guys that bracket race prefer autos because they're more consistent. One thing I did was have the guy who did my dyno tuning setup my transmission program the way I like it. He adjusted shift schedule and shift pressure.
Supercharged Automatic in my 2007 Mustang GT. It's a Vortech V2 S-trim non-intercooled (very basic, not the H.O. model). It put down 364 rwhp on a very conservative Mustang Dyno, so it's about 455 horsepower at the crank with a very safe, daily driver tune.
With custom tuning for firmer shifts, higher shift points, and revised stall converter lockup points, it makes for a great performer at wide open throttle at the drag strip. And, it's a daily driver with no compromise in ease of driving or comfort.
I would actually prefer an automatic behind a supercharger as you don't have to lift off the throttle for shifts (and lose boost) like you would with a manual. Plus, with 4.10 gears, my car rips through the gears so fast I'd rather let the computer be in charge of shifts, as I could never keep up!

Sure, you can do that - and break stuff! With an automatic, there's no carnage and the boost is always on during shifts. Why do you suppose most of the fastest 9 & 10 second mod-motor Mustangs have automatics?
I speed shift all the time with my Whippled stang and when done correctly with a good clutch set up there's nothing breaking here. On the track with stickys and better traction you run the risk of breaking stuff no matter how you shift.
I've never broken a transmission by power shifting. Sure it's not great on the drivetrain but if you're doing it right it's not that bad. It's not like an automatic is bulletproof either. Everything can break.
