Official 2006 NFL Thread

I don't think either team played well tonight, but the colts made some timely plays and they deserved the win. As bad as the Pats played on offense the Colts should have won but 14 or more.

that pick in the endzone on the first drive really took the pats out of there game early. It looks like it was a blown route but still Brady should have not thrown that pass, there was three colts defenders there so even if the route was not blown that probally would have not been a good play..

That interception really put them in a bad spot because the colts scored on that drive, and for the pats to exploit the weak run defense of indy they needed a early lead.

As far as bradys other picks those were all deflections, when things are going good for you those find there way to the ground, tonight they did not three of them went right into the hands of colts defenders. So I don't think brady played as bad as the numbers look, sure it was hardly brady at his best but sometimes you need a little luck of the bounce and all those bounces were going to the colts tonight. Brady did make some poor throws but the funny thing is three of the picks were not the really bad ones.

The pats defense played OK for three quarters considering the awfull feild position all the turnovers put them in.

In the early part of the game the pats defense was allowing manning to much time in the pocket, you can not let the colts offense have that kind of time because with those great wideouts somebody is going to get open and manning will find him. You have to get some presure on manning to force him to rush his throws, thats how the pats beat him before and thats the adjustment they made in the second half. I think if they should have come out of the gate playing agressive defense.

I am shocked the pats only lost by 7 in that game, they threw 4 picks, fumbled away deep in there territory, blew chances to capitolize on Colts turnovers and played terrible on special teams they are lucky the colts were not at their best.

One other thing about this game that ticked me off was the officals, only good thing I can say about them is they passed the bad calls around to both sides. What was up with that hands to the face call on Vrabel that gave the colts a first down. Or how about that terrible spot that gave the pats a first down near the end of the first half. To top it off was that laughable call on troy brown, do they really think Brown of all people was trying to throw the ball at the two colts players there. It was obvious to anybody watching he was trying to toss it to the ref and was not paying much attention.

The officals really sucked but atleast none of the horrible calls really hurt either team that bad.

*wonders where redline is* probably hiding!!!

I have to work today (get up at 4:30 AM), I only stayed up as late as the second half even though I never feel asleep watching the game.

Cant win games w/ 5 turnovers. On Brady's behalf there were a lot of tipped balls and thats nothing that he can prevent. Just colts in the right place at the right time. Not like the Patriots to have so many calls against them either. They usually play a pretty clean game. On the other side of the coin for the colts to only come away w/ a 7 point win and the Patriots giving up 5 turnovers shows that they didn't play that well of a game either. Sliver lining is that the Patriots don't loose to the same team twice in the same yr since the Brady/Belichick era. Which means they will prob see either Denver or Indy in the post season and Im sure we will see a different outcome. I always hate losing to the colts but they did not give the ball up as much. Always next week and the colts never could handle the "undefeated season" talk. They will drop a few eventually.
