In order to vote the mustang of the year, WE NEED ENGINE BAY SHOTS!!! anyone can make outside look good. From the pictures THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME TO ME!
Not everyone here has a show car either. If those have to be included where does it stop? Who makes the most HP, how has the best track times??? They all look the same b/c they are all 94-95's
You got a point there, But since you are the founding member, can you please make them include the engine bay shots? They should be reward for how much work they put into the car regardless. it's the SN of the YEAR, if it was SN of the month i would care less, But it would still be nice
I see your point too but I cant do anything as far as making anyone include those pics. Ive just been here along time I dont have any authority and StangGT1995 stepped down as a mod. Perhaps for this years voting we can do that but kinda hard to implement that now when voting has already started.
that's a good idea b/c it should be more about total aspects of the car some people like the show cars more while others like the performance aspect more when voting on cars. Some could care less how nice it looks if it does not have dyno/track numbers to back it up while others dont care how fast something is unless you can eat off the engine bay
I was going to post something, and then I realized that other people here were thinking the same thing as me. There is more to a car other than the quality of the paint, and the particular body kit they have put on it. A picture doesn't tell a thousand words when it comes to a car. I think we should compare stuff, like authenticity, power, track times, and how much elbow grease a person has put in themselves to reach their goals. There are people that post on here who don't change their own oil. If you compare more of these things, one car here is clearly better than all the rest, and the picture doesn't tell it.
Most of us know who you are talking about, and most of us have seen the pics of his engine compartment, why those pics aren't on here, I don't know. But Cars of that caliber are far and few between. I don't know of another car on here that is its equal, or even close. So once(if) he wins S.N.O.T.Y., who will there be next year that can compete? I do most of the work on my car, but I know it will never look or run as good as that car. Does that mean that I don't have a shot at winning or even being nominated for sn of the month, or year?
What I am getting at is that it will be a pretty boring contest if it there is only one or a few cars in the competition. We have a pretty good system going now, some months its even a struggle to get enough nominees, but we manage. I like participating in the nominations and the voting, I look forward to it every month. So I hope it doesn't change.
That being said, I think that there is room for improvement, like if you don't post pics of your engine, no one knows how much work you put into it, so you miss out on some votes that way. Also I think it would be a good Idea if the cars owner gave us some background on the car so we know how much work has been put into the car.
I reserve the right not post pictures of my engine bay. I haven't cleaned the engine in at least 3 years. That's why I bought a really snazzy hood to cover it up.
