Hi!

I'm a noob to the Mustang world, or the "FNG" as some would say. Saw this thread and figured I'd post up my 2001 Cobra.

But, before I get to the pictures, I wanted to tell you guys the pretty awesome story of just how I came across my Cobra and how much I paid for it, which may be quite the shocker to many..

Last December, I was looking to get a New Edge, because I love the body style and well, because I wanted a New Edge ever since I was in diapers. It was just one of those cars I had to own one day. So off to the FB marketplace I went and I found quite a few options. Multiple GTs left and right. I had messaged various sellers about potentially buying one. Pretty much all of the sellers I had experienced were pretty bad about communicating and organizing, so I was dwindling down my options. Two days into my hunt, I spotted an 01 Cobra that had just been posted up by a guy in Maryland. I reached out to the guy and he started enlightening me to just what all was wrong with the car because it wasn't running at the time... Apparently, the owner prior to him had broken a cam cap and was still dumb enough to start and run the car with the broken cam cap. Because of this, the intake camshaft on the drivers side head went out of balance and began eating away the head material and severely damaged the camshaft... This meant that the car would need a new driver's side head... Despite how expensive such a thing could be, I was still pressed to get the car... We talked and came to an agreement and scheduled a date and time to meet... So, me and my buddy got in the truck, hooked up the trailer, and off to Maryland we went! When we got there, the guy stuck to his word about the deal...

I ended up getting this 2001 Cobra for a crazy $500 with a signed title in my hand and both sets of keys in my possession... Mind you, at the time I thought this was no big deal, as I wasn't at all knowledgeable about Mustangs, nor did I know the value that came with a Cobra. I really didn't know just what I had gotten. It wasn't until later that I discovered just how much of a steal I had gotten on this car!

The car does have it's fair share of miles on the odometer at 157,000 and it does have it's problems, but it now has oil pressure and runs pretty smooth with a nice new set of heads, new water pump, oil pump, timing chain, serpentine belt, power steering pump, and some other minor things here and there. The alternator just went out and it now needs a new a EVAP Solenoid, simple fixes. It's nothing super special or anything to really get hyped up about, but I figured I'd share my experience with you guys and maybe run into someone who had a similar one and snagged a diamond for the price of a rusty nail.

Just picked this 2001 GT up a few weeks ago. Cobra tank swap, supercharged, 60-lb injectors, Centerforce clutch, subframe connectors, Bullitt staggered wheels with 315s in the rear. Mods/upgrades in spring will include rear control arms, shocks, struts, and a short-throw shifter.

Hello, I'm new to this site...This is my 03 GT I know it's not nearly as nice and customized like most of the ones I seen so far...It's pretty stock except for new exhaust, Bassani Off-road x-pipe w/ MAC catback, tuned by Mustang Magic on my SCT Tuner, for 93 premium/no cats. I added a steeda short throw shifter, Raxiom dual halo front headlights and Raxiom LED sequential Rear Lights. I also added AM Rims with new tires pkg. PowerStop brake kit with drilled and slotted rotors, red calipers, and a 73mm BBK throttle body. Still so much more to do...need a new top, a garbage truck side swiped me while it was parked in front of my house, it was there and covered so the trees didn't drop crap all over it. Anyone in L.I.N.Y. looking to make a new friend?

New to site thought I’d throw up my new stang. It a 2000 GT but there was only 1 owner before me. I picked it up with only 100k miles on it and original leather that in perfect condition. Now I get to show it the proper mustang love by driving and modding it to hell

Like that color, reminds me of my prior Bright Atlantic Blue '98 Cobra that I got some many compliments on for it for the color.

Yea not sure if I want to leave it solid or maybe add a touch of something to offset or maybe stripes? I have to ask my more artist friends because I can’t imagine anything I need to see it

My 99 SVT Cobra Procharged running 15psi of boost and Meth addict...Methanol injection...Twin Walbro 500 lph return style fuel pumps with boostapumps for extra fuel. SCT MAF...Tuner is SCT LIWEWIRE. 95LB DEKA Injectors. Rebuilding the heads as we speak for more ponies. Putting down 863rwhp getting her ready for 900rwhp and new tune.

My 1999 Mustang GT. Stock except for my wheel and tire setup and the striping. Hope to do more in the future.

Still in hibernation, but getting ready to come out and play!

Looks great! Would really benefit from the Mach 1 chin spoiler from LMR and some window tint. My 99 is white too but without the stripes.
