When I ordered my X pipe I did not buy the elliminators because I didn't have the money. When I had my friend who is a auto tech put it on he suggested I use spark plug non foulers. They are about $3 at Advance Auto Parts for a pack of two. You are supposed to drill out the end of it to allow room for the O2 sensor. You screw the non fouler into the xpipe and then the )2 sensor. I have not had a light since and it only cost me $3. If any of you know of this and know there is something wrong with doing this please tell me otherwise its a great trick so far.

The part number that I got was 42009.

I don't see how this can keep the check engine light from coming on. the mil's are programmed to match the settings of an o2 sensor operating under normal conditions with catalytic converters on the car, and simulate the exhaust environment so the car "thinks" the cats are still on the car.

these "nuts" don't do that...so I'm baffled by how the check engine light is not coming on because of this little part.

well the full story is he put the x pipe on and it had a leak so i ordered a new passenger gasket and got those non goulers. my check engine light came on and i checked it at my work. o2 sensors. i kept clearing the code and it kept coming back. he reinstalled the pipe and put the non foulers in and i erased it again. that was a week and a half ago. hasent come on since.

2 of my friends tried the same trick.

it didnt work on an 05 GTO or on a 03 GT

it is SUPPOSE to pull the o2 sensor far enough out of the stream so that it doesnt see all the unburned fuel, only a small portion of it.

long story short it does not work

Problem is that while that light being on for the rear O2s is fine. But, if there is another serious issue that develops, how would you know if the Service Engine light is always on?
