) Most oils are pretty much the same but if your looking for an extra edge synthetics have come a long way and I really recomend mobil1 5w30 synthetic as it has been shown to add as much as 6 hp at the wheels and better gas mileage, might leak out a bit more though... If it does start leaking more or burning more (flows like water at any temp so it gets passed worn seals easier than a conventional oil will) than changing back to conventional oils will cure that then you know not to do it again, no harm no foul.Black 93 Fox said:Also put some USED oil on the new filter ring. And make sure you get both oil plugs.
Wondered why my dipstick had 3 lines on it... Oh well Ive alwaysed used 5 quarts anyways.jerry beach said:It is a nice touch to put 1/2 QT of oil in the new filter before you install it. This way the oil pump wont run dry during the first few seconds of startup. Think of it, the mains are running dry too if there is no oil in the filter. I always do this, unless the filter is sideways.
Also as Hissin stated, the dipsticks are wrong in these cars. Fill it up with 5 QTs and run the engine, allow it to sit and drain for 5min or more and check your dipstick. It will prolly read way over full. Mark this new spot as your full mark.
