Why in the mother earth ford have to put oil filter in such an odd angle?

Everytime i do an oil change, my arm, control arm, and steering rack gets covered in oil!!!

I have seen some other filters in some wierd places also, the filter on my fiance's 99 v6 stang is easy as pie, its a remote mount or whatever filter. Easy as cake!

Wrap all areas around the oil filter in aluminum foil. Where you can't wrap anything, just mold the aluminum foil to the engine parts. Wallah. Clean oil change.

I've been meaning to look in to remote oil filter relocation kit (Along with oil cooler), but the aluminum foil idea is good one. I have to try that on next oil change

I put plastic bag around it when i remove oil filter and no mess

I use aluminum foil to channel the oil. It works great I usually get no spillage.

You struck a cord with me on this one too! I've found a 4-inch plastic funnel fits perfectly under the filter and redirects the oil into my drain pan.

But there's definitely a MM filter relocation kit in my future.
