Oil cooler lines and shorter belt problems

you just remove the adapter between the block and oil filter. its been several years since i removed mine so i'd have to get under there and look at it to really help ya. maybe someone w/ a better memory will chime in.

Yeah, i was wondering if the oil cooler really helps much anyway?? If not, the engine bay would look a little cleaner by taking it out. Also, how did you completely remove it?? I was wondering about where the lines go into the hoses, and if you have to plug anything?

You cant run a short belt with the lines there. It looks much cleaner and i think it serves no purpose for me. All i belive it really does is heat up the oil not cool it down. Very easy to remove just take the lines out and buy a bypass hose for a gt or just get a 5/8 heater hose with a 90 degree bend then remove the oil filter and take the oil cooler off. Its held on by a bolt and then replace the oil filter and your done. Looks much cleaner now.

Actually it cools down the oil about 20-30 degrees if your car is running at 190 the oil would be running pretty close to that about 195 -200 or else it would run over 250 degrees easy when you are on it hard. The engineers didnt put it on there just for the look it has its purpose.I run the longer filter and it fits tight its only like 4cm from the swaybar
