oil fumes

Help!! I'm getting oil fumes in my car whenever I run my mustang hard. I have an open breather on the valve cover. Is this giving me the smell? If it is, how can I fix it? Will a closed breather with a vacuum hose connected to the throttle body work? I have aftermarket valve covers on the car also.

What do you mean when you say hard? High rpms or WOT? I know that when I put my car to WOT even in fourth gear from 1500 RPMs, I will get the smell of oil for a few seconds. This will happen sometimes if I haven't driven the car for a while. I think it is just blow-by.

Check to see if the back of your lower intake is leaking..
