Some of you know Ive been chasing around a couple of oil leaks for 2+ years. Ive changed lower intake gaskets, seals, Vortech Lines, etc... Pretty much everything but the pan gaskets.

Well, last month, after always finding oil on the two front pass side pan bolts, I decided to remove the bolts and put some Permatex around the 2 bolts (seems obvious- but since the the Vortech Drain hose{that commonly leaks} and the Front MS are so close, we thought the oil on the bolts were and end point of some other leak). Well, There has still been some oil on the floor.

I had the car aligned today after putting in the C/C plates....While it was up on the rack and when I checked the front bolts....COMPLETELY dry!

I noticed that there was a bead of oil on the rear drain plug, on the bell housing, and on the 2 most rear oil pan bolts. So the next time I get under the car and change the oil, Ill try sealing up those bolts and see what happens.

The main reason Im posting this is so that others that have some leaks can check this out as a possiblilty.

Here are a couple of pics...sorry for the shoddy quaility, but they were with my phone camera and pea-sized flash.

1. Sealed front bolts---11:00 position is towards front of car. The 5:00 position is the clamp holding the Vortech drain hose.

2.

3. Rear Pan, Rear bolt...you can see the residue all around it.

Hope this info helps at least one person.

Glad you finally found the sourse of the leak RC. They can be pretty frustrating sometimes when they are hard to find or in a spot that you would think would be fine.

I saw your car in the driveway today around lunch time. I had to do a project at my bosses house and lives in the next development after Pembroke (Harbour Lakes). I didn't have time to stop by though. Good to hear about the leaks being sealed.

Dude, You couldve spared 5 minutes!
Anyway...car was outside because I had just gotten home from the alignment, and it needed cleaning.

The leaks arent sealed yet, and IM not positive that it's still only from the bolts...but gives me some hope the next time I get up in there.

Thanks
RC
