My car has a rear main leak and I'm pretty sure you can just take the trans out. Does anyone know for sure? The dealer I took my car to said they might have to pull the motor, that sounds to me like their trying to get more money for a job they can just pull the trans.

If it is just a rear main leaking all they have to take out is the trans and other related parts out. No need to touch the engine unless it needs a pan gasket also.
