While under my car today working on my gas tank, I noticed that there was some type of oil on the bottom of the rear driver side shock. Is it possible that its leaking? Or should I be looking for a leak somewhere else. Not sure where else oil would be coming from in the rear of the car though.

You're going to need to change those out. They are toast once they start leaking and if you haven't noticed it yet, you will notice soon that your car will bounce around a lot more.

Mine was leaking and bouncing bigtime 4 years back. I had them swapped out and now the ride is totally different.

The rear shocks are one of the hardest working parts on the Mustang. If you can't afford nice shocks just get some cheap ones and you will notice a difference.

Might want to do the struts at the same time...
