I guess whoever had the car before me stripped out the plug then went to an oversized plug. It is now stripped and I have a temporary rubber butterfly plug in there. What is the easiest way to fix this without raising the engine and pulling the pan??? I really want to get out of this with a quick fix but I dont want to worry about it either. HELP!!!!

if your a good welder you can always weld on a bung. personally id treat it as a winter project....orrr reason to replace the motor "while its out"

i wouldnt count on welding on an oil pan thats on a car, would be pretty much impossible to get it clean enough to weld on and have it do any good. i'd get a a bit tap that will cut new threads in whats already there and then find a nice new bolt or something to serve as your new plug.

I think that might be my only option... I hope I can find a tap big enough? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

The butterfly plug is starting to dry rot and they say it is only good for a few oil changes...
