Heres the deal. I bought a rebuilt shortblock that originally a fox motor. Its got a new oil pump and pick up on it. But for some reason my oil pan won't sit flush on it. It seems like its being held up by the pick up. But the pick up is the same size as the old one. I don't have my old pump to compare but would the pump actually be bigger or does it just really sit that flush against the pick up and it will bolt down tight. It sits up between a 1/16" - 1/8" on one side when pressing on the other. Need help

The pickup is different I think. I did the same thing, they look identical but the fox has one of the brackets on the top of the tube, while we have ours on the bottom, making it sit an inch or so lower. Do you have your stock pickup? try that and see if it works. The pumps should be the same.
