I've got a 69 mustang with a 302, I'm replacing my oil pan, and the gasket that came off isn't gonna cut it when i put it back together, so for the cork gasket i know i'm supposed to use a good coat of "red" RTV, can't i just use the orange stuff? Cuz I have orange at home, but not red. I know i have to replace the cork side gasketes with silicone, but what about those front and rear seals, they are kinda like half circle rubber gaskets that are for the rear main seal and the front cap, do i still use those or just silicone it?
I really wanted to know about that gasket tho, cuz i'm about to go do it in about an hour, I have this stuff called "The Right Stuff" it's thicker than RTV, it's OEM approved and it's black, it makes excellent gaskets and i used it on my intake manifold front and rear seals and haven't seen a drop yet, can't i just use this on the oil pan?
