im thinking about getting these and a larger tach mounted on top of my dash in the bezel you can buy for it. does anyone run a mechanical oil and fuel pressure inside their car. i have a meachanical oil pressure in another car and it leaks down my a pillar so i dont want oil and fuel puddling on my dash. that may be a bad thing ya know. howbout the electronic oil and fuel pressure guages. do they move like a mechanical one or will they just go to the middle and stay in one spot like the stock gauges in the cluster. i am supercharging my car and i want to be able to monitor oil and fuel pressure as i am driving. anyone have any advice for me. should i go with mechanical and risk the leak or spend the extra money on electrical gauges.

thanks,
steve

I think you'll find that inside the car mech fuel gauge's are a no-no.

I had custom gauges built for me by AutoMeter...that I actually am now not going to use. So I have an electric 0-100 psi Fuel Press and a mech vacuum/boost gauge for sale (they are based on the sport comp series 2 5/8 i believe)...as well as an a-pillar 2 gauge pod.

I'm running mech oil and water gauges with no probs. The oil line is the braided steel stuff and haven't had problem one.

I run a mechanical oil pressure gauge inside the car. I still use the nylon line. I know it's due to break but i've been lazy. It's been fine for two years though. I plan on switching it to copper someday

go with the Autometer electric gauges. they do fluctuate like the mechanical ones do and are easier to install.

one more question what do you hook the source wire for electrical oil and fuel pressure gauges to???

thanks,
steve

do you mean the signal wire or the power source. the signal wire goes to the sensor, the power wire goes to a switched(Hot in RUN) circuit.

electrical oil pressure gauge

I have a autometer 2 1/16th sport comp ultralite, electric oil pressure gauge I could sell ya. It's got the silver bezel with the white face. brand new never been used pm if your interested.
