oil pressure gauge installed but now strange psi!

I am noticing that at warm idle tge gauge reads 50 while feiving say at 2200 rpm the gauge reads 95 psi. It stays that high until I come
To a stop at a light for example. I have recently changed the oil and use mobil one full synthetic. So what could be going on here? The sender seems to be working fine but I've been that at cruising rpm I should be at 60 psi 95 seems high is this bad?

Someone here has got to have experience using an after market oil pressure gauge...where are you...speak up...please! Wheres our Tech folks...

Let me ask it another way since no one wants to chime in here, where does your oil pressure sit at idle, and while driving, after proper warm up of course


Maybe that question is a little easier to understand...

what oil pump are you using, SOHC or DOHC?

At startup driving around i'll sit at 60psi idel and 80-85psi cruising depending if i'm accelerating. It'll then drop to like 40-60 crusing and 20 idle once it gets warm

im using a 2000 sohc pump, and at anything over idle warm its at 95 psi and cruising at 60 in 5th then its at around 75 or 80, at idle when warm its at 50. Did i damage the sender do you think?

it's possible that you have a bad sender.. But you should also check your connections and wires..

Also you may want to go to the website for the company that made your gauge and see what they have on there for troubleshooting.
