Oil Pressure Gauge won't budge.

My oil pressure gauge is all the way left and won't budge. I had to drive it about 20 miles, and it still never moved from all the way left. This is the first time this has ever happened.

Before my problem, earlier today I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor...following all that, now I have a gauge that reads zero oil pressure.

What gives?......there is no oil light, I see no oil leaks, and checked the oil and it is good.....

Can the sending unit come unplugged? Am I going to blow up my engine if I drive it?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

YES IT CAN COME UN PLUGGED IS IT PLUGED IN.

Stop yelling!! :fuss:

Yes, the sending unit can come unplugged. Look down just in front of the oil filter, there should be a ground cable bolted to the block on a bracket. Just below and behind that is the sending unit, and the plug. It just slides on over a post sticking out of the unit. It's a good chance it came off.

lol, it's all good. One of my pet peeves is people typing in all caps. It's like those people who shout all the time, even when you're standing right in front of them.

Yea, I'd check to make sure it has oil pressure before driving it anymore (that's why I like autometer gauges!).

Success!!!!

Thanks, I found that crappy little plug and sure enough it had worked it's way loose (prolly when I pulled out my old spark plug wires). I plugged it back in and my oil pressure gauge came back to life....big relief for me, that is for sure.
