Besides the autometer gauge?

For the engine end, you will need to get a "tee" so that you can have both the original oil pressure switch and the new oil pressure sensor connected up into the same engine block hole. Then, just run a wire to your new gauge.

BTW, what year Mustang do you have? The older Mustangs, just like all other Ford products, one can convert the factory oil "idiot" gauge into a functioning gauge by replacing the oil pressure switch with an oil pressure sensor, and "shorting" the 20 ohm resistor on the back of the "idiot" gauge.

I think it is 1/8" (don't quote me on that). The small adapter that comes with the gauge fits in this hole:

I heard that both the factory and the autometer sending units wont fit there with at tee because its too tight in there? Is this true? If so, where do you get the hose kit that will work?

I did not use a tee at all on my install. i just dropped the sending unit right out beside the factory sending unit. All you need is some wire(12-14 gauge) and some terminal ends. You also have to tap into the 12v coming from the ignition so the gauge comes on and goes off as you turn the switch on. But i did not use a tee or any thing. take the plug out of the assembly that the oil filter is attached to and the adapter sent with the gauge will screw right in and then the sending unit will screw into that. make sure you use a sealant on the threads or else you will have a oil leak. Hope this helps. It took me about an hour and an half to install and that includes finding the 12v power source and everything.

Just in case you want to know, i was able to take the panel off the dash underneath the steering wheel and tap into the 12v wire coming from the key switch for the power. use a test light and find it. i think that it is a blue wire but i am not positive. There should be a bundle of wires going into the steering column. It is a 12v wire in there somewhere that only has power when the switch is on. That is the one you want.

Hope this helps and good luck on the install.

Well, the picture shows that they clearly do fit. It's not even close. You can get the elbow at your local hardware store.

Can you take a picture of your sending unit? I really dont understand where you've installed yours. You make it sound like its sitting inside the oil filter. I didnt know there was any additional drain plugs on the block for oil in that area.

And this talk about tee's not fitting is absurd, I have 2 tees and 3 sensors coming off my factory location and I can still easily grab the oil filter.

Can somebody with a 99-04 reply and let me know what wire is good to hook in to for allowing the gauges to dim with the dimmer switch?

I don't think you can on the newer style gauge clusters.. I know there's a writeup somewhere about turning the old cobra clusters in to functional gauges by shorting out some resistor on the back.. but I don't know what years that covers. Still would like to know what wire to use for the dimming

As long as you're not using a S/C w/ a oil feed, you don't need one. If you look at the factory oil pressure sensor, just below it there's a plug that you can back out and put your sensor in. I'm pretty sure it's a 1/4" NPT fitting.

The oil filter doesn't attach to the block, it screw into an adapter housing. On that housing there is an unused fitting. This can be removed and the gage sensor installed there.

If you're already running a blower, you'll need a T-fitting to go in between the oil feed line for the blower and the gage sender unit.
