When I start my '99 the oil pressure guage goes right up to a little past center as normal. I have had the car forever, but noticed recently that after driving a little the guage moves back a hair...still at or just past the middle, but it definately moves a little. If I turn the car off and start it right back up it goes back to the original position.

I read the posts and understand that this is a dummy guage, but was wondering if maybe my sending unit is showing early signs of failure or if that is just normal for the guage to drop a hair. Most people probably wouldn't notice and I'm not sure why I did, but I did. Oil level is fine and all of that.

I would start by replacing the oil pressure sending unit, located near the oil filter.

the oil presure guage on these cars is worthless. it's normal to have the guage go to a different spot sometimes.

get a real aftermarket presure guage

Auto meter makes some good gauges. You might as well get a temp gauge too
