I have 10 psi at my oil gauge on a 400mile reman 302 from ford. I wana pull the pan in the car and try a new pump even tho it has a new one on it. do I have to jack up the engine or mess with the rack? any other ideas about the low oil presser? 91 coupe 5.0, 5 speed

check all the electrical first. Hook a mechanical gauge to see if there is oil pressure. If no then you are going to have to change the pump. You can with it with the engine in the car but you unbolt motormounts take off steering rack, jack up the engine, shove 2x4 between engine and motor mount and start cursing cuz it is way easier to yank the motor

Make sure the oil galley plugs didnt pop out. They are behind the timing cover by the cam retainer plate. A lot of work.....Yes, but better than trashing an engine.

You may need to check the pickup to pan clearance also.

Have you changed the oil yet?
