OK, heres the deal... I recently purchased a 01 GT vert auto for my wife as a daily driver. The car has around 60,000 miles, and runs perfect. The problem has occured the past two mornings. Within the first mile or two of driving, the oil pressure guage gives some real crazy readings. It will drop to zero, jump back up to normal, and back and forth all over the place 2 or 3 times, then go normal and give no problems the rest of the day. The whole event lasts about 10 to 20 seconds, and the motor makes no sounds out of the ordinary.
I recently changed the oil (2 weeks ago) with Motorcraft 5W-20 oil, and a Motorcraft FL-820S filter. Oil level was checked and is fine.
The only difference in anything has been the outside temps. The past 2 mornings lows have been in the upper 40's but this shouldnt be cold enough to make any difference.
Just curious if anyone else had experienced a similar problem, hoping for maybe a faulty oil pressure sending unit or guage.

Why? The manual calls for 5W20.
Seriously, this is the first mod motored car I have owned. Also own a 94 Cobra, 93 Saleen, and 85 GT. This thing is a whole new world for me.

as far as messed up gauge goes, i think there was thread like this once befor. I think if I remenber right, it was loose connection at the sending unit...
