What is high oil pressure a symptom of?

How high? Can you be more specific? Are you reading this off an aftermarket OP gauge or the factory one.

im reading it off the factory gauge. Ever since i got the car for 4 years the needle was dead center of the gauge. now its near the A in NORMAL. It's still in "normal" range but its not the same as it used to be. I want to know what would cause this so it wont built up to a bigger problem. Also ive been thinking of installing an oil cooler. would this help out?
