Check the wire and sending unit. Unless you are uncovering the sump some how.

I liken the factory oil pressure gauge to a woman, they both seem to be telling you what's going on, but you're never really sure if they're lying. In any case, don't trust either of them.

Thats right. Never trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesnt die.

Hello! I think the wirein on the sender might be groundin some where or the sender.I have a cyberdyne digital dash new oil pressure sender. My gauge reads 39 all the time unless I open the drivers door it goes up to 65 close door back down to 39.I think the ford wirein is the problem try to replace the wirein to the sender from the gauge.Later Sub

Your (sublime29) problem is poor grounding. Check you firewall ground and the ground going to the gauges.

On a factory designed gauge package, if you ground the wire from the sending unit, the gauge goes all the way to the high or full range.

This is kind of extreme but could it be that your car accelerates hard enough to slush the oil away from the pickup? Do you have an aftermarket oil pan? You say it doesn't do it when you rev it at idle. Does that mean when your sitting still?

yup

yea jason. you are correct. when im sitting still it does not do it. i was thinking the same as you on the accleration theory but dont really know what i can do to stop that if thats what its doing. i guess i could just not put the hammer down anymore and drive like a normal person  ......naaaaaa. :rlaugh: lol. anyway i just got a new sender for my gauge this afternoon and ill put it on tommorrow and see if that fixes it. ill let yall know. later.
