my car has always burned oil 500miles a quart. i am getting the heads re-sealed. i was wondering what it means when my oil pan is all oily (near the tranny)? is that the rear main seal?
I would check for oil leaks under the car, if there are any fix them first. Also check the PCV system, if there is oil in there then replace the PCV valve and the screen below it. If it keeps up after that you might want some kind of catch can built inline. Alot of times piston ring blowbye overloads the system and pushes oil into the PCV which ends up in the intake.
Jason is giving you good info. when oil leaks, it gets blown all over. it could even be leaky valve covers. gotta clean it and watch for new trails. good luck.
