how much play(up and down movement) should there be in the oil pump drive shaft?
i installed a new pump and drive shaft on my explorer long block and before i put my pan back on, i want to make sure everything is correct.
out of the box, the retainer on my new shaft was in the same place as retainer of the shaft that was in my mustang so i just in stalled it. there seems to be a little up and down play but it does not come out of the pump.
Is this normal?
