I have a '96 Mustang with 145,000 miles on it. When I bought the car it had 20w-50 in it so i decided to stay with that but someone told me that it is to thick for my engine. Is this true and if so what should i use in my car??

Yeah that's way too heavy. The oil cap recommends 5w-20 lol. I used 10w-30

oil cap on a 96 reccomends 5w-30 for a 96. 2001 was the year they started the 20. however with higher mileage, i have always heard ot use a heavier oil.

Yeah I know about the heavier oil for high mileage. Was just using the oil cap as a reference to show how insanely heavy his oil was .
